Your fiancée-to-be is the real deal – shouldn’t flowers be too?
As we move into spring, we are getting more and more requests for fresh flower setups. Although we stock an abundance of silk flowers which can be used within your proposal décor, we must admit we get very excited to create fresh displays!
I spoke to our in-house florist, Debbie, about all the reasons you might opt for fresh flowers when styling your proposal location. Here’s what she had to say…
1. They are highly customisable.
Fresh flower displays ensure your proposal is completely unique. You can easily incorporate your partner’s favourite flowers and colours to add that all-important personal touch and, after closely examining your chosen venue, our team will also customise your floral designs to suit the structure they are working with (for example, a bandstand or pergola) as well as to blend with the wider surroundings. We take an entirely bespoke approach when working with fresh flowers!
2. They are timeless and elegant.
Fresh flowers ooze romance and luxury without ever being “too much”.
If you’re not keen on big marry me signs or other more extravagant decorations, fresh flowers might just be the ideal way to adorn your preferred proposal setting. They can be used to create an understated yet breathtaking setup that is sure to illicit a “yes!” from someone who is a nature lover or just more of a minimalist.
3. They smell incredible!
Satisfying all five senses is the key to crafting a truly memorable experience. Whilst it is easy to become wrapped up in planning the visual elements of a setup, do not underestimate the impact of the perfect proposal scent! The great thing about fresh flowers is not only do they transform how a space looks, but they also smell amazing. The subtle, fresh scent of budding flowers is sure to make your fiancée swoon!
So, there you have it – three main reasons why we love fresh flowers! If your budget won’t quite stretch to cover them though, don’t fret. We’ve got you covered with our extensive collection of red, pink and white silk flowers from roses to peonies and even wisteria! We also have huge amounts of faux greenery and even some silk sunflowers too. These are more affordable but very realistic nonetheless.

Debbie’s Top Tips:
Keep in mind the seasonality of certain flowers when selecting your proposal date! In particular, if your partner loves sunflowers, it is important to note that these are only available at certain times throughout the year.
Be aware of the different meanings flowers have in different cultures. Chrysanthemums, for instance, are used in some countries strictly for sympathy and remembrance – not very romantic! Let us know your nationalities and we can ensure we steer clear of any flowers that would be inappropriate for you.
Take your fresh flowers home with you to serve as a reminder of your proposal. If you can’t take an entire display, ask your proposal planner for a cutting. You could even then have this preserved!
